clinical signs include tachypnoea, ataxia and oedema of the head.

of the parasites in blood using a Giemsa - stained blood smear
ELISA
PCR

Anti-Babesia
antibiotics (imidocarb diproprionate) are used to treat the
disease
Restrict
the imported horses to prevent the introduction of the disease.
